Annie's Story...
Hello,
My name is Annie. I’m not sure how old I am but they seem to think I am about 7-8 months old. I was found by a little old lady that works in her garden everyday. I would visit her there. She was concerned about the weaving in and out of her legs I would do to greet her. She didn’t want to fall. So she asked a friend of hers to foster me until I found a home. She considered keeping me but I am not the ‘couch potato’ she is looking for. (whatever that is)

I am very social and love to interact with people. I get along with other cats and dogs. I travel very well, too. As you can see in my pictures, I go to work everyday.

My favorite pasttime (besides my looong naps) is to play with kick toys, balls and my favorite tassles! I eat only dry food and I have been spayed and am current on vaccinations. I’m litter box trained and very regular.

I’m quiet but sometimes do like to talk to you. I’m just needing someone that has time to cuddle and talk to me.

Thanks for listening, Annie J
Are you interested in adopting Annie or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received.

Completed applications can be sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org , faxed to 919-300-5524 or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner (White Oak Shopping Center) or at Petsmart in Smithfield.

We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application for Annie.

Thanks for thinking adoption!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Annie, a Smithfield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Smithfield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Smithfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Smithfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Smithfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Smithfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
