Hello there! Thank-you for clicking on my profile, I’d love to meet you. Let me tell you a little bit about adopting me.
My name is Georgie and I am a 2 year old neutered male Shih Tzu who came to NBS Animal Rescue from the Genesee County Animal Shelter when a member of my owners family surrendered my friends and I after our owner passed away. It was so super scary there - we were so very glad that NBSAR came and took us out of there and into a loving foster home!
Even though I was super scared at the shelter - all I wanted to do when I got out of that cage was give kisses and tail wags to the NBSAR lady who saved us. I love everyone that I meet - my foster mom says that I am a happy go lucky fella who loves to be around people I love and go for walks and play in a fenced yard. I am playful with most other dogs who are friendly and playful as well. I haven't met a cat yet.
I'm doing well with this potty training thing and as long as I go out every couple hours I do my business outside like a champ. I've visited the doggy doctor and got a clean bill of health too!
I'm looking for a family who will love me and give me lots of attention. I like to go for walks, explore a fenced yard with you, or sit on your lap for ear scratches on the back patio. I'm a sweet fella who is looking for a loving family - could it be with you?
My friends at NBS Animal Rescue are helping me to find the perfect fur-ever home. All of the dogs in our rescue are have different personalities and needs within an adoptive home. -Children must be 10yrs or older
- 100% fenced in yard.
If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family please follow these steps:
1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out my adoption application. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to….
2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.
3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.
My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your veterinarian). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.
