Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! My name is Pepper. I am a 1 ~ 2 year old Heeler/Hound mix.
I was rescued in early July from the Caroline County Animal Shelter.
I think I am called Pepper not only because of my spotted coat but also because I have a great PEP IN MY STEP!
I have been living with my foster family and their other dogs. I fit into the pack well and get along with the other dogs in the house just fine. My fosters do not have cats so I am not sure how I would be around them.
I am very happy in my crate, or (like any hound dog) can make any spot on the floor a comfy spot to take a nap. I am COMPLETELY housebroken; have not had an accident inside yet!
I am mild tempered, have shown no aggression at all towards the other dogs or people in the house. I am not food aggressive and I do not mind sharing my toys.
I have not learned to play with the other dogs yet but I like to let my voice be heard when the other dogs start talking. I think I could get into this play thing if I had someone to show me the ropes.
I LOVE being outside so a fenced in yard would be best for me (or an owner who likes to go for a lot of walks throughout the day). My fosters take our pack for walks 3 - 4 times a day and I am always happy to go. I have a harness currently and I do great on the leash.
Overall I am medium to low energy and a cuddle bug. I am not much of a lap dog nor do I care much for being on the furniture. But I always like to keep my owners in sight!
