Tad is a Domestic Short Hair (DSH), gray and white, male cat, 1.5 years of age (1-27-16).
Adorable and always on the lookout for some hands-on, loving attention, Tad is a serious cuddle-bug who loves sincerely and without hesitation. Working creatively to engage anyone who comes in his vicinity, he’ll put a smile on your face and a laugh in your heart with his silly, playful, “look-at-me” antics. Tad enjoys being held and will quickly roll over for a good belly rub when being petted or brushed. The King of Snuggles, he’ll nuzzle your neck while purring “sweet nothings” in your ear, and he loves interactive playtime as well as independent exploring. Interested and involved in his environment, one of Tad’s favorite pastimes is perching himself near a window to watch the goings on outside until, most contently, he yawns and stretches, readying himself for a long bout of afternoon naptime.
Rescued from Monroe County Animal Control with his three siblings ( Mouse, Sylvie, and Em), Tad was treated at intake for URI, pneumonia, emaciation, dehydration, and a severe case of Roundworm; Tad is now a robust and healthy, extremely happy cat looking for his forever home.
Tad is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a low to moderately-active lifestyle. He is a very social and friendly cat who gets along well with other compatible cats, and he’s comfortable in the presence of well-mannered dogs who respect his space. As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable cats, a home visit and a meet-n-greet with any housemate pets will be required prior to adoption.
Tad currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Resale Store/The Fur Factory. Come meet him during store hours, Tuesday – Saturday, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm and 4:00 - 6:00 pm, closed Sunday, Monday, and National Holidays. All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $75.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, and micro-chipped prior to adoption.
