Name: Sylvie
Breed: Domestic Short Hair (DSH)
Coat Color: Gray
Sex: Female-sp
Age: 1 year of age

Sylvie can be a bit reserved with new people, but once you start petting her she warms up quickly, preferring to purr right into your ear. Friendly and sweet, but also very independent, she is generally happier to observe activities rather than interacting in them. A really undemanding and quiet cat who doesn’t readily reveal much of herself, Sylvie will appreciate a space to call her own, like a window perch or tower, where she can be near family members without having them fawning over her. She does enjoy treats and playtime, and reveals the kitten inside of her when presented with a toy mouse.

Sylvie is comfortable interacting with other cats and in the presence of dogs.

Sylvie currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center (previously Gator’s Pet Supplies) located at 293 W. Monroe St, Dundee, MI 48131. Come and meet her during store hours Tuesday – Thursday, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm, Friday, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm, closed Saturday and Sunday.

All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $75.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, and up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations. Cats can be micro-chipped at time of adoption for a fee of $15.00.

About Monroe SPCA

About Our Rescue Group...

Monroe SPCA (Monroe Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is a 501c.3 tax-exempt, non-profit animal welfare and rescue organization incorporated in the State of Michigan in 2010. Monroe SPCA is governed by all-volunteer Board of Directors.

Monroe SPCA’s mission is to save, protect, and improve the lives of animals. One of the ways we accomplish our mission is by being the leading non-profit organization facilitating adoptions and providing medical care and treatment to homeless animals at Monroe County Animal Control. We are also the leading rescuer and rehabilitator of animals at this shelter, finding and securing placement for some of the neediest and most vulnerable animals with partner rescue organizations (all of them no-kill) as well as through our own network of foster homes.

Additionally, Monroe SPCA, now, also provides every dog at Monroe County Animal Control with basic preventative health care which includes flea preventative, deworming(s), DHPP vaccine and booster, and Heartworm Testing. If a dog tests positive for Heartworm, Monroe SPCA also provides that dog with Heartworm Treatment.

Donate to Our Rescue Group...

Monroe SPCA Operational Support Programs at Monroe County Animal Control are funded solely by monetary donations. We do not receive government funding, and we are not affiliated with or funded by Monroe County Animal Control, the HSUS, the ASPCA, or any other humane organization. Monroe SPCA relies solely on the financial support and generosity of individuals and businesses in our community to conduct our daily operations and help animals. All donations to Monroe SPCA are tax-deductible. Support Monroe SPCA’s mission to save, protect, and improve the lives of animals by donating online:

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process starts with filling out an Adoption Application on the animal you're interested in adopting. Once we've received and reviewed your completed application we’ll contact you, usually within 2-3 days (remember, we're all volunteers). Our adoptions are best-fit placements, meaning we strive to ensure a good match for both, the animal being adopted and the adopter.

Our adoption fee for dogs and puppies is $120.00 to $200.00.
Our adoption fee for cats and kittens is $75.00.

Adoption fee includes the animal being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, and micro-chipped prior to adoption as well as all dogs being Heartworm negative or receiving treatment for Heartworm.
