My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, two legged-peeps, I’m Turner. I was here for a few weeks, but you didn’t hear much about me because I had some troubles going on. I know, hard to believe looking at me – I’m freakin’ gorgeous!

I was hit by a truck—yes, a truck—when I was younger. My family could not afford to help me, and my back hips did not heal well like they should have. I’m only 2-3, but I have dealt with pain for most of my life. I was very stiff legged and could barely lift my leg to pee … although, trust me, I tried to about 200x a day. After all, I’m a Jack and I’m a boy! Must. Claim. Everything. Because I was uncomfortable, I could be snippy sometimes and I snapped at people and other dogs on more than one occasion.

That, however, is all behind me now, thanks to some therapy and medication! I’ve been in a temporary foster home and am doing great. I don’t mind being touched and loved on and get along fine with the other dogs.

Overall, I’m a wonderful, smart boy who just wants to have fun. I am (again) all Jack and would do best in a home with someone who is Jack-savvy and understands that, even though my hip will have some permanent weakness, I am still gung-ho when it comes to playing and running!
