Hooch's Story...
Hooch is an adorable Dogue de Bordeaux/boxer who was a stray to a shelter that we work with. Unbelievably he sat for for a couple months without interest, and when the shelter filled we agreed to take him on. He's done great with other dogs and cats, and LOVES people. He is about 2 years old and does have some energy, but isnt bad for his age. He is learning how to walk nicely on a leash, and is getting used to being crated when his fosters aren't home. We are currently treating him for some issues with colitis, so he will need to be on a controlled diet to keep his digestive tract working well.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hooch, a Guelph Dogue de Bordeaux/Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dogue de Bordeaux/Boxer for sale in Guelph, or seeking a Dogue de Bordeaux/Boxer dog from a breeder in Guelph.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Guelph already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Guelph breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dogue de Bordeaux/Boxer breeders who help with Dogue de Bordeaux/Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Guelph paves the way for another one to be saved.
