Hi everyone, I'm Charlie. Pleased to meet you, as a 7 years young Shih Tzu who loves to play should be, right? What do you like to do. Me? Well, I liked to find any toy I can wrestle with, especially the ones that squeak…..and be a crazy man! Going for walks is also one of my favorite things, smelling the fresh flowers, greeting all the neighbors, (who keep telling me how cute I am and how impressed they are with how good I walk on the leash) and enjoying the summer.
I’m a real gentleman on my walks, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Of course, I am still working on potty training, but am doing great by learning the routine from my foster sisters. They also help remind me to be good in a crate, once I have had a chance to settle down- I just snooze the night away. But if you are looking for someone to bring a little joy to your day? I’m here to remind you how happy I am to see you! I’m always very excited when my foster mom comes home, I can’t imagine what it would be like to welcome a forever mom or dad at the door. Sometimes I bark when my foster sisters start to get to talkin, just to join in the excitement! I can’t help it. Girls bring that out in all of us, right?
Anyway, let’s get to it. I ‘m a lovebug looking to snuggle up in your lap at the end of the day, and am looking for someone who knows how to give a good belly rub, and would let me lay my head on their lap...I really am adorable! If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family please follow these steps:
1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out my adoption application. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to….
2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.
3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.
My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. If you’d like to meet me, please apply online and to become an approved adopter!
Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your veterinarian). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.
