My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Welcome to the "cheese pups" - born on 5/24/15 - who came to Forget Me Not as a Stop the Cycle litter. Mama will be spayed on a Forget Me Not voucher and returned to her owner, and all the pups will be spayed/neutered before leaving. They will be ready to go home 8/7/15..

These pups weighed between 12 1/2 and 14 1/2 pounds at 8 weeks old. We expect they will be around 60 to 80 pounds full-grown. They are all well socialized, happy pups, who stayed with their mama for their first 8 weeks, and are staying together as a litter until they head for their new homes after 8/7.

Mama Blue is 1/2 Border Collie, 1/4 Doberman, and 1/4 Rottweiler - the last photo is of her.

Papa is suspected to be a wandering Maremma (similar to a Great Pyrenees) that passes through the mama's property from time to time.

None of the pups look like either Blue or a Maremma right now (except for Cheddar, Gouda, and Manchego with the long, thick, curly Maremma-like coats) - had they come in without any history, we would have just described them as "shepherd mix" pups! They are all beautiful, unique LeMutte pups, and should integrate easily into pretty much any type of family - kids, cats, other dogs, they should adapt to all. They were even raised around goats!

Cheddar is a fluffy tricolor boy, full of mischief!

Puppies require a lot of human interaction, and all puppies will benefit from obedience training and full immersion in their human household. These pups' ideal home will have someone who can exercise them with a couple of energetic walks each day, plus commitment to training them how to be the best dogs they can be. These pups hope to have very few hours per day when they will be without the companionship of a human or other pet. They will reward their forever people with boundless love and loyalty! We start all puppies on their vaccinations as soon as they arrive at the shelter (this litter had their first vaccination on 7/18, their second will be given on 8/8, with a final booster about 3-4 weeks later [likely post-adoption]; they will then need rabies vaccination between 4-6 months of age).

We've included a short video of the pups from 7/22/15

Cheddar comes with a 30-day money-back trial adoption period. We will be accepting applications for these pups until 7/29/15, and will then work with approved adopters to assign pups based on individual "pupsonalities" that will be developing during their time in the shelter's care.

Spay/neuter, worming, microchip and all age-appropriate shots are always completed before placement, and are included in the adoption fee (suggested minimum $108; more gratefully accepted!)

Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your payment to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
