Stella's Story...
With her long, lanky legs and her beautiful black coat, this girl bears a slight resemblance to a colt. Stella is a sweet girl who loves people. On walks, Stella will stop for a break and enjoy loving hugs and rubs from her human companion. A previous owner reported that Stella can be a bit mouthy (although we have not experienced this first-hand), so to be prudent and because of her size, we recommend that Stella go to an adult-only home. Stella has responded well to behavioral training in the past so we're confident that a committed handler could help her succeed in any future home. Come meet this graceful girl who draws stares from passersby in nearby Aquatic Park not only because of her looks, but because of her exemplary behavior, as well.

Act quickly to adopt Stella. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Stella, a Berkeley Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
