My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Gizmo! I am a approx 1 1/2 to 2 years old. I weigh around 12lbs. I was abandoned by my family, found covered in mats, and in very bad condition when found by my good Samaritans. You couldn’t even see my face at all and the matts were so painful you can't imagine. We have pictures to show you so you will know what I've been through. I didn’t know how to be a dog and I definitely didn’t know what love was. Luckily, someone saved me and now I am with Harbored Souls. I have come a very long way and enjoying my new life more than you will ever know. It feels good to finally know what love is.Gizmo needs a family that will be patient and very kind to him him. We don’t know his exact circumstance. He is slow to warm up understandably to new situations and strangers. He can be shy and reserved but building confidence each day and learning to trust that not all people are bad. He has made tremendous progress with walking on a leash, but his foster family is working on this daily. He is completely crate trained and does not have accidents as long as he is taken out when need be. When Gizmo first came into the foster’s home he would wedge himself between the fridge and the wall, his super secret hiding place. Since then, in just a few short weeks, he has come out of his shell immensely.
Gizmo loves couch cuddles and snuggles, but he also loves play time with the other dogs in the house. Another dog would be a plus for Gizmo because he tends to follow the other dogs to learn. Gizmo gets along with dogs, cats, and kids, and he is calm enough to be around smaller children. He is fast becoming a lap dog so we will consider all situations. He loves his people very much and that's what is most important to him. This little boy is going to need a little extra love, and once he builds his confidence even more, he will be a great little companion for life. He's already doing extremely well in his foster home.
