My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Ody and I know it - Just call me, and I'll come running. I also know Sit and Lie Down and I even understand if I'm told to leave a room. I have a few years under my belt but it has all led to maturity. I am housebroken, I don’t chew things and I’m good with other dogs. (Cats, not so much! I don't think I'd ever hurt one, but it sure is fun chasing them!) Overall, though, I'm a pretty relaxed and well-adjusted guy. I'm probably some kind of hound-terrier mix, long and low like a bassett, with the face of a terrier. I’m not tall but I’m BIG on personality. I love snuggling and giving kisses. I always have a smile on my face and I like following my foster dad like a shadow. I recently overheard him saying that I'm the best foster dog he's ever had! And my foster mom calls me a "love bug".

My foster family taught me the first day that I'm not allowed on the couch (much to my chagrin, but, you know, their house, their rules :) However, even with my stubby little legs, I managed to get up on their (QUITE high) bed though and slept right in between them all night! So as you can see, I acclimate easily. Within a few hours, it will be liked I've lived with you forever. Can you say EASY!

I’m living with a foster sister dog who is a good bit bigger than me (I'm only 34 pounds), but we play, wrestle and just hang out great. I lived with my previous owners until they could not care for me anymore but I know how to live in a home. I would be a perfect turn-key dog for the right home. I would love a family with an existing dog (I'm very good about sharing my food and toys!) - but I would do fine if I’m the only dog as long as I'm not left alone TOO long. I'm a very sociable guy, so don't want to be lonely. If you want a pal that will snuggle as much as you want and always has a smile, I am the dog for you.

Ody is estimated to be 6-7 years old His adoption fee of $235 includes: vet exam, heartworm test (neg.), distemper combo vaccination, bordetella vaccination, rabies vaccination, routine deworming, heartworm preventative, flea & tick preventative, microchip, dental cleaning and neuter.
