My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

NOTE: Adopt A Pet requires that a "breed" be assigned to each pet. In most cases, the exact breed of our pets available for adoption is not known and is assigned based upon appearance.

"Hi! My name is SCUD and I am a 120 lb 5 year old female Rottweiler/Lab mix. I am a huge lover, and if you let me I will lick you endlessly! I know a few tricks such as sit, lay down, shake and high five. (I really love giving high five’s and hearing you laugh praising me!! Kisses always follow soon after!) I know what off and “let’s get in bed” mean too! I only bark when something is extremely important, but just snort when I am unsure about something! I love to play tug of war and fetch. And I love squeaky toys as well as riding in cars and taking walks. I get really excited when company comes over, but that excitement usually only lasts 5 minutes then I am lazy again. The only thing that is making me grumpy is smaller dogs who like to pick on me. I would prefer and best suited in a home that is quiet or with other animals my size. I like to walk my house at night to make sure everything is where it should be, and protected. I really love kids, but have never been around them other than short visits to my house. I dance when my butt is rubbed, and love cuddling with humans when I lay on my bed. I am house broke, kennel trained, and will stay off furniture (unless invited up!!). I am very well behaved and can be left out alone during the day without any issues. I am fed on a feeding schedule (once in the mornings and once during dinner time) and really love all of the Taste of the Wild flavors. I really enjoy watching TV with my humans, and prefer it left on during the day when I am the only one home. Animal Planet and ESPN are my favorite channels!! Speaking of TV, although I have never seen an owl in person, hearing them on TV will alert me! You may be surprised how many owls are background noises on movies and tv shows! So exciting ha ha! I have always had a huge fenced in back yard, but prefer to be inside in the a/c (summer) or heat (winter). A doggy door my size would be perfect, but I am just as happy without one. If you give me a chance, I will love you forever and ever and never let you down!"

The donation to adopt is $200- The average cost of vaccinations, deworming, micro chipping, spay/neuter, heartworm testing and a month's care is $200. If your dog's expenses are covered by your adoption fee, the remainder of the fee goes straight to the dogs to pay for food, medical care and the dogs daily needs. Your fee helps us rehabilitate a dog with long term needs or save a weak puppy. You might be buying time and life for a large dog, a black dog, or a shy dog, a dog whose life is not a financial practicality. When you adopt one of our dogs, you are not buying a pet; you are supporting our life saving rescue work.

Please feel free to e-mail us at petsareworthsavingtn@live.com if you have any questions.
