Snoopy's Story...
Snoopy (formerly Archie) is the sweetest basset/beagle mix. In initial pictures, he looks like a basset with shorter ears, but in person he is a tiny bagel, weighing in at only 27 pounds. He was a stray and he has worked diligently on his house training. Unfortunately, he has heart worms so he will be undergoing treatment form these nasty creatures. If you are interested in giving this sweet man (he is around 8), please go to www.barcse.org and fill out an application. He will make one family very lucky!

Snoopy's foster mom had to change his name once she got to know him. His antics are quite Snoopy-like.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Snoopy, a Columbia Basset Hound/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound/Beagle for sale in Columbia, or seeking a Basset Hound/Beagle dog from a breeder in Columbia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Columbia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Columbia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound/Beagle breeders who help with Basset Hound/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Columbia paves the way for another one to be saved.
