Comstoch's Story...
Update 8/13/15: Thanks to the Athenspets Spay/Neuter Fund, Comstock has now been neutered and brought up-to-date on his shots! Please come see this fluffy fellow soon! He's been in the shelter for 34 days now!

Comstock came in as a stray cat brought in by a concerned citizen. She said that despite him being a stray, she was able to give him a bath before coming and she brought him in her arms rather than a crate. However, the shelter turned out to be a very scary place for him initially, which isn’t terribly unusual unfortunately, and so it took him a while to adjust. He’s been opening up more and more each day. He’s happy to be held and loves doing just about anything that gets him out of his cage for a bit. He’s a gorgeous domestic medium hair cat with an impressive plume of a tail. Come see this handsome boy soon!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Comstoch, a Athens Domestic Mediumhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Mediumhair for sale in Athens, or seeking a Domestic Mediumhair cat from a breeder in Athens.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Athens already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Athens breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Mediumhair breeders who help with Domestic Mediumhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Athens paves the way for another one to be saved.
