My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Elsie is a happy girl that loves everyone - she is not one to hide her affection either - she never tires of showering you with kisses. She absolutely adores children and is so gentle with them. She is good-natured, well behaved, totally housetrained and non-destructive. She has little, if any, interest in cats in the house. Elsie is very cute and has short little legs, but more than that, she has the sweetest nature! She loves toys… it is so cute to see her toss them around, entertaining herself.

Elsie was "living" at a recycling center in South Central Los Angeles for at least two months. She would stay in the yard during the day and then the staff led her out onto Vermont Ave. when they shut the gates at night. Poor thing was hit by a car on Vermont – her hip was badly dislocated and she was pregnant and lost her littler of puppies because of the impact. It would be another two months before we would learn about Elsie and pick her up. But because of the time lapse, the veterinarian suggested an FHO surgery for her (they remove the femur head). She had the surgery and is fantastic - you can barely tell there was ever anything wrong with her leg - she LOVES her walks and is always ready to go.
