Max's Story...
Super Senior Max here! My super power you ask? "Purr of Calming" because I am sure to warm your heart and calm your soul once you hear my sweet purr. I have a bit of a sad story...My owner passed away and I had no one that could take care of me. I was a bit down in the dumps but the folks here have taught me to love again and I am ready to find a family to take me home! I'll admit I am still a bit shy and like to peek out at you from my bed. Once I become comfortable in my environment I am sure to be a love bug! I am considered a special needs kitty because I have a grade 3 out of 6 heart murmur. The doctor said there is not much to be done about it now and that it will just need to be monitored to make sure I stay healthy! Think I could be the perfect match for you and your family? Come down and visit me today!!
Before making the trip to visit the shelter we strongly recommend checking our website for information on adoption policies and procedures. To inquire about a pet's availability or for more information, we encourage you to visit our shelter in person. Due to the high volume of interest, email and phone inquiries may not be returned on a daily basis. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Max, a Gloucester Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Gloucester, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Gloucester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gloucester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gloucester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gloucester paves the way for another one to be saved.
