My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hope is an energetic young lady with a face that can melt you. She is a little beauty. Hope loves to play, enjoys stuffed Kongs, being petted, and spending time with her foster family, human and canine. Hope requires time to warm up and trust when meeting new people. At first she will be timid and avoidant. Given an opportunity to make the beginning overtures, she is quite affectionate. She trusts women more than men, but with some patience, is a loyal companion who loves laying near her humans or occupying herself playing with one of her toys. She also especially enjoys racing around with her canine foster siblings! We prefer a home with another dog in the home.

More information after several weeks of living with this munchkin: Hope is built like a tank and has a beautiful face and head. She’s on the smaller size, probably about 80 pounds. She is fostered with many other dogs in my home. She loves to play wrestle and race around with the others. She has shown no aggression, but she is dominant. However, if a dog corrects her, she backs off. She is sweet and solicits my attention for affection, but can be headstrong at times. She understands the word NO. She loves to play with balls and Kongs and tug ropes. When I am not home or if I can’t monitor her, I crate her because she still chews things she shouldn’t. I give her a stuffed Kong or a bully stick and she’s quiet and accepting of her crate, whether alone or with other crated dogs. She was well behaved at the vet, but does show a lack of confidence with new people. I’m pretty sure this is from previous abuse. She hasn’t shown and food or toy aggression with humans. She does prefer that the other dogs are not near her while she eats.
