Maggie's Story...
Maggie is a beautiful cat with big, soulful eyes. Unfortunately, Maggie was very abused and neglected by her previous owner. She was left in a cat carrier in the blazing sun for days at a time. Fortunately, Maggie was rescued and she is now working on learning to trust people again. She is doing well with the volunteers who come regularly to the shelter and seems to do better with men companions. Maggie would do best in a home with no other animals and with someone who has a big heart and is willing to be patient with Maggies needs. She has a lot of love to give, she just needs to know you are not going to hurt her. If you would like to give this wonderful kitty a second chance at a forever home, please complete our online adoption application at betterdaysanimalleague.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maggie, a Chambersburg Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chambersburg, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chambersburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chambersburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chambersburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chambersburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
