My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Peach, a lovely lady who is around the age of 8-10 years old. Most Rover Rescue dogs arrive from the high kill shelters throughout southern Indiana, but Peach is a local girl who was picked up in Kendall County in late June. Believing a foster home setting would be more ideal, animal control reached out to local rescues looking for a spot for Peach. Luckily, Rover Rescue has a family who loves Chihuahuas so Peach was able to leave the shelter life and look for her fur-ever family.

Peach arrived to her foster home and it was clear how she earned her name. She really is a peach! She has a wonderful temperament and allowed all her new canine friends to sniff her. She happily wagged her tail when another young Chihuahua came into sight and she happily trotted by his side her first night in her foster home. After exploring her yard, Peach was ready to meet the rest of the household.

Peach currently has 5 children ranging in ages from 3 to 15 years old in her foster home. If the children sit calmly, Peach will settle herself lovingly in their lap for some much needed love. She is very sweet and acts like she just can't get enough attention! Her tail never stops wagging and she easily fits into the busy household with no issues. Peach even met the family's cat and scooted over on the dog bed to make room for him!

The volunteers at the shelter felt she was housetrained based on her always having a clean kennel when they arrived in the morning. In addition, she always kept it clean during the day too. In her foster home, she quickly picked up on the schedule and has no problem going potty in the fenced backyard. She is not a barker when she is outside. She very much enjoys our Midwest summer days and will happily sun herself while the kids play outside.

Peach is a perfect example of a Chihuahua. She has a loyalty to her people and wants to be with them all the time. She is a total companion dog and her ideal fur-ever home would be one that has a lap to hold her and hands to pet her. She loves comfy spots and she hasn't ever met a dog bed that she doesn't like, lol! She is easily handled and passed her evaluation test at the shelter with no problems in any category.
Peach has been spayed and is heartworm negative. She is on a monthly preventative for fleas and heartworm. She is up to date with her vaccinations including bordetella and rabies. Peach is also microchipped.

Her adoption fee is $100. If you are interested in having this sweet lass greet you each morning, follow you around each day, and sit contently with you each night, please call her foster mom Mary at 630-585-7927 for a phone interview. She will have some questions for you as well as answer any additional questions you many have about Peach!
