Dawn's Story...
Name: Dawn
Breed: Chesapeake/Lab type mix
Age: Mature Adult
Gender: Female

Dawn is a 7-8 year old Chesapeake/Lab type mix, about 45 pounds and a very mellow, well mannered, easy to live with girl. Dawn is great at being charming, loves to say hello to new people and sit calmly at your side while you stop to chat. She is used to little kids and comfortable living with them, likes to get on the couch when she can sneak it, and has been fine with cats and other dogs. She prefers to not live with a younger rowdy dog who is jumping all over her, would do well on her own or with another calmer dog, and enjoys meeting dogs on the leash on walks. She is reliably house trained, and not a chewer or barker. Dawn is afraid of storms but just goes under the bed and is well behaved under there.

Requirements: No special requirements

You can email with questions and for a preadopt application. This dog has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated as age appropriate, tested for heartworm disease if age appropriate, and dewormed.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dawn, a Minneapolis Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Labrador Retriever for sale in Minneapolis, or seeking a Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Minneapolis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Minneapolis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Minneapolis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Minneapolis paves the way for another one to be saved.
