Hey there fur-baby lovers, my name is Spike. Aren't I a cutie????? I am a 1-1/2 year old male Chihuahua. I am up-to-date on all my shots, have been micro-chipped, and get flea and heartworm preventive medicine every month. I have finally gained enough weight, so I recently had my neuter. Although I had a very tough beginning of neglect and abuse, I have become more confident and am learning to trust humans again. Oh, by the way, I am somewhat of a special-needs little fellow – I have Hydrocephalus (water on the brain). This means you will need to have patience because it takes me a little time to learn things. Because of my past and my condition, I sometimes think I’m thirsty even when I’m not. If I’m not watched closely by my fosters I drink way too much. This makes it difficult to potty-train me. I’m working on it with my fosters, but they needed to take stock in wee-wee pads for my crate so I don’t make too much of a mess and ruin my beautiful fur. I enjoy being outside and am learning to walk on a leash but I'm not a fan yet. BUTTTT, I am a huge fan of being picked up and kissed on my head. I prefer small to medium sized brothers and sisters because I like it quiet with little chaos and I don’t want to be trampled.
