Sandy's Story...
Meet adorable Sandy! She's an 8 month old lab mix (likely with a herding breed) looking for her forever home. Sandy loves children that are out of the toddler phase and other dogs. She has been known to chase cats. She's a great size at 35# and will likely only grow to be 40-45#. Sandy needs an active family that does not have a heavy hand. Sandy is very sensitive and responds extremely well to positive reward-based training. Since she was a stray and is still a puppy she still needs a bit of work on potty training and appropriate behaviors.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sandy, a Bellingham Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
