Star's Story...
Star light, Star bright, first Star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might, have this wish I wish tonight. I bet you can figure out what I’m wishing for—that’s right, a new home. A home with other dogs would be just fine, gentle and respectful children 7+ would be great, too. I might even be willing to make friends with your with kitty cats if you are willing to be patient. I am a sensitive young lady, but oh-so-sweet—sure to be a wonderful companion. I am crate trained already and working hard to learn lots of great skills. Yes, I may be 10 years old, but I promise you can teach an old dog new tricks! Don’t let my age fool you; I am as spry as pups half my age! Boy-o-boy, I hope wishes really do come true! 10 years old-50lbs. My adoption fee is $100 and includes spay, microchip, reduced-cost training class, 1 month pet health insurance, free veterinary exam, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Star, a Portland Chow Chow/Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chow Chow/Golden Retriever for sale in Portland, or seeking a Chow Chow/Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chow Chow/Golden Retriever breeders who help with Chow Chow/Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
