My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Northern California Weimaraner Rescue, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Please visit www.norcalweimrescue.org to fill out our online Adoption Application

TRIP, 5 y/o, male Weimaraner. Trip is a big, but gentle boy with a kind heart. He especially loves children and let his family's toddler climb on him before they cuddled. Trip gets along with other dogs and puppies though he would occasionally give the two male dogs in the home a growl to maintain his space. Trip is a dream dog; he is very easy and entertaining to live with. Sometimes he needs to be "told" to go to bed and he will, but not until he does three counter clockwise circles before flopping down. "Trippy" as his prior owner called him, enjoys car rides - anything to be with his people! He has a great time playing Fetch! but it's tricky - you have to tell Trip to drop it and sometimes he will put in your hand, sometimes he keeps the ball for himself. Trip has been pampered and loved. He really enjoys a soft bed on the floor to sleep on; Trip is not a fan of wood floors and he is not crate trained, so a comfy dog bed or perhaps a spot on the couch... Trip was given up because his human companion left for college and the boy's parents could not care for Trip plus two other dogs and a toddler while working full time. Trip knows a few tricks - sit, stay, and down (he will not get up from a "down" until called.) He needs work on leash as he pulls without a care in the world and he is a strong boy. He was raised on acreage, so rather than work on teaching him leash manners, the family exercised him on the property off leash and trained him on his recall skills. We are hopeful Trip's new home will have someone who takes an interest in him his last companion did; that was Trip's second home though it was good friends of the original owner who took him in so they were already part of Trip's life. Trip does fine at home alone when his people are not there, but he would love having a female dog friend to keep him company. Trip is current on vaccines, neutered and heart worm negative. If you are interested in fostering or adopting this wonderful boy, please fill out an APPLICATION. In Patterson . Adoption fee is $250.
