Gary's Story...
I'm a sweet boy who came into the Tulsa Shelter with a broken leg. The nice rescue group took me to an ortho specialist who thought at first they could put a rod in my leg, but alas it was discovered that my bone was too badly crushed so I had to say goodbye to my hind leg. I get around just fine though and I can run really fast. In fact, I like to run and show you just how nifty I am. I'm very friendly and I like being petted. I'm also playful and I like my toys. I'm all healed up now and ready to go to a forever home. I'm not handicapped but it would be nice to have a home where I won't be afraid of a big dog getting me, or kids or other cats picking on me.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gary, a Tulsa Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Tulsa, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Tulsa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tulsa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tulsa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tulsa paves the way for another one to be saved.
