Austin's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Austin's Story...
4 year old Austin's beloved human passed away recently and he's looking for a new person to call his very own. He walks great on the leash and LOVES to go for bye-byes in the car. He would do best in a home with a strong Alpha pack leader with giant breed experience who can clearly set rules, boundaries and limitations with him because he's so "needy" right now that he wants to be your EVERYTHING at all times and hates to let you out of his sight. He's a sweetheart and a big guy at 168 pounds, a truly magnificent Newfoundland Dog that will stop traffic with his good looks. He seems especially taken with men, but does fine with women, children, cats and submissive smaller dogs or large breed females. He is not dog aggressive, but will become very jealous of large male dogs near his person in the home and act out at them, so he would do best in a home without another large male dog. He also will need to be fed separately from other dogs in the house as he can guard his food bowl (not from people) from other dogs. If you meet all the requirements and are interested in adopting Austin, please fill out and submit an on-line adoption application from our web site at www.sunnysaints.org and you will be contacted shortly. Austin is being fostered in the Simi Valley area where meet and greets will need to take place.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Austin, a Bellflower Newfoundland dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Newfoundland for sale in Bellflower, or seeking a Newfoundland dog from a breeder in Bellflower.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellflower already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellflower breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Newfoundland breeders who help with Newfoundland rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellflower paves the way for another one to be saved.
