Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Iggy is a beautiful female redtick coonhound that was found curled up on the porch of a nice woman who just could not bear to take her to a shelter. She was emaciated, scared, pitiful and yet so sweet and loving. The woman contacted our organization and asked for help, so we paid for the vet bills to get Iggy all fixed up and ready to find a family of her own. She is now spayed, current on vaccinations, tested heartworm negative and has been given preventatives for fleas and heartworms. The vet clinic estimated her age at approximately one year or less. The first 2 photos are of Iggy now, and the 3rd one is how she looked in that early morning in June when she was found on the porch.
Her foster mom reports that she is a friendly, happy hound, and she gets along with the other hounds at the household. As you can see from her photo, she loves people too! She sleeps in a crate at night with no complaints. As with most young coonhounds, she is very energetic and could benefit from some training. She would love to attend an obedience class with you, and our organization will reimburse you for the cost of the class once you and Iggy have completed it!
Iggy is currently living in a rural area north of Brenham, but we can arrange to get her closer to Houston or where ever a potential adopter might be located. The first step in our adoption process is to fill out our online application if you are interested in adopting a dog on our site. Please go to www.HoustonBeagleRescue.org and click on "About Adoption" to find the link for the application to adopt, and then someone will contact you about meeting Iggy or one of our other available dogs.
