Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Why not adopt Wilber? He's an 8 year old Black Lab/Border Collie mix that is loved by everyone at Friendship. He was found as a stray in Oberlin and has been at the shelter for a while due to an ear condition. Wilber has been treated, is healthy and ready for his forever home. Wilber has quite a bit of energy for being a senior and would love a fenced in yard to hang out. Other dogs don't seem to bother him and it's not known if he likes cats or not. He keeps a clean kennel at the shelter. If you are looking for an all around nice dog to have as a companion pet, Wilber is definitely the dog for you.
On August 24, 2015, Wilber was selected to be one of Friendship's Prison Dogs. He is currently undergoing training at the Grafton Correctional Institution. Prison Dogs are trained in obedience, basic commands, manners and proper leash walking. He will spend approximately 12 weeks at the prison.
If you are interested in adopting this prison dog, adoption applications are now being accepted. This dog will be returning to Friendship in a few weeks so get your adoption app in ASAP. You can find an app at friendshipapl.org under ADOPT-FIND A FRIEND. Hand deliver the app to Friendship or call if you live a distance away to see if you can fax one in. Please do not email the app.
If you have any questions, please contact the shelter at 440-322-4321. Or email at adoptions@friendshipapl.org.
All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered. Dogs 3 months and older are micro-chipped.
