Here's what the humans have to say about me:
When we met Jack Frost in a high kill shelter, he had been dumped an hour earlier by his previous owners. He was already scheduled for euthanasia because he was so fearful but after just a minute of sitting with him, he crawled into our laps and that was it...he became a Ruff Start dog! We couldn't begin to imagine what Jack went through before he came into rescue but we knew he needed time in foster to learn to trust people again. After a couple months, Jack is still a bit shy but he has made huge strides. Our 1.5 year old Maltese mix is looking for a patient family that will give him time to settle into his new home and who will appreciate that once he's comfortable, he will happily seek out his people for attention. While our 12lb. fluff is a cuddler and would love to sleep in your bed, he also enjoys his alone time and a crate where he can come and go as he pleases. Jackie Frost is happy sharing his time with other dogs but loves his foster mom most of all. In fact, he collects her things and carries them around. A flip flop, slipper, t-shirt...he always has a keepsake of hers close by. Jack is not completely housebroken, and he will need a little time to adjust as he transitions into his new home. Mr. Frost is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped. If you are interested in meeting Jackie Frost, please fill out an application at ruffstarthappytails.org
