Amos's Story...
Amos is a stunning one year old German Shepherd looking for his perfect fit. Amos came into ACL as a stray, but it's clear he is a purebred dog with great manners. He knows many commands, walks beautifully on a leash, is respectful and obedient with people, and he's extroverted and social with people big and small! Amos is a shepherd, so he'll need a family willing to give him "work" to do - GSDs love training, agility, and anything that channels their natural instincts into productive behavior. Experience with the breed is a must! Amos is good with other dogs, though he prefers females, and he'll be good with supervised children of all ages. Come meet this stunner today!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Amos, a Oak Park German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Oak Park, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Oak Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oak Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oak Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oak Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
