Facts about Cali

  • Breed: Domestic Mediumhair
  • Color: Tortoiseshell
  • Age: Senior
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Medium
Cali is a very sad story. She was found by a young boy living in a sewer pipe. When he want up to her, she came right up to him purring and rubbing all over his legs! He could not stand to leave her behind, so he took her him to Mom, who let him bring her in.
Figuring she was a stray cat, she called us to have us take her to the vet we use to get her spayed, vaccinated and tested (for feline leukemia and FIV-both negative). She has also been treated for worms and fleas.
When she was there, they discovered she was already spayed and did have a micro-chip. When she got her back, she took her to the owners who did not even know NOR CARE she had been missing for over 2 months!! They got her because they had mice and after the mice were gone, so was she!!! ARGGGGGHHH!
Poor sweet baby spent the last 2 months living in a sewer pipe looking for shelter, food and love!
She is very sweet and loves people and even gets along with the fosters pit bull but unfortunately they can not keep her for they are at their limit.
Would you concern giving this sweet girl the life she deserves inside safe, sound and loved-please!

About Castaway Cats

About Our Rescue Group...

Castaway Cats is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit cat rescue based in Bear, DE, comprised entirely of volunteers. We do not have a shelter and all of our cats are in foster homes. This rescue was started in 1992 in an effort to help the homeless and feral cats in our area. Each cat we rescue is spayed/neutered, tested for Feline Leukemia and AIDS, vaccinated with FVCRP and rabies shots, de-wormed and de-fleaed. Because all our cats are spayed or neutered before adoption, we do not adopt out kittens under the age of 12 weeks.
