Toby is a true gem of a cat in every way. He's a 7 year-old, neutered, indoor-only, brown mackerel tabby with stunning green/gold eyes. He's extremely intelligent, curious, well-mannered, loving, loyal and protective.
This handsome guy is very polite, quiet, has a calm demeanor, but still loves to run around and play like a kitten at times. If he's in a playful mood, he's been known to play fetch with a toy mouse. He's also a cat who thinks he's a watch dog. If he spots a cat or some other animal outside, he'll run to the door or window and do his best to chase it away. If you hold a cat treat over him, he even knows how to balance on his hind legs in a cute pose for it.
While Toby loves attention and is very affectionate, he's happy to hang out on his own if you're busy. He enjoys a hug or two, but he's a macho cat and likes his space. He can be shy around new people, but once he gets to know someone, he's very sweet, social and loving. He'll greet you when you come home and generally stays in the same room or areas as people in the household instead of being off by his self.
He's a great eater, is super healthy and strong, has a low-maintenance coat, is good about having his nails trimmed and always uses his litter box.

Background: We adopted him from the APL in November 2008. His first owner gave him up at 6 months of age because they had too many cats. He's been with us ever since.

Color: Brown Mackerel Tabby, tiny white star on chest and small white patch on belly.
Likes: Cat treats, watching birds out the window
Good with other cats once he gets to know them. Unsure about dogs since he has not been around a dog since I've owned him. He is a strong cat but always very gentle and has never shown any signs of aggression.
*Important Note*
Toby and Zeke were adopted around the same time when they were kittens and have been best friends for 6 years. They're a bonded pair and are always happiest when they're together. For this reason, I'd ideally like them go to a new home as a pair.
