Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My name is Buddy. I am a medium to large, 2 year old red n white male cocker spaniel. I was turned into a NC shelter by some people who said they had found me as a stray. After they left, the shelter found out that I have a micro-chip. The contact information showed that the people who turned me in were indeed my owners. They were contacted and the staff held me for 10 days. They never came for me, so I guess they really just didn't want me anymore. The staff learned quickly that they could not place me for adoption because I would act out and they couldn't touch me. They liked me and wanted to give me a chance, so they asked for rescue help and allowed these nice CCR folks to evaluate me to see if I could come to rescue. I did ok when the CCR lady came to meet me, so now I am here and hoping to eventually find a home again.
I am heartworm negative, in good health and I have now been neutered. I seem to be pretty well house trained and dog social. I am dominant with some trigger aggressors which make me act out, so these nice folks are now working on my issues to help me be a nicer cocker boy. I want to trust, but I have these red flags that go up and trigger me to act out.......no telling why. When I do act out, I seem to know that I will not win and then I settle down again. Then, I'm ok and you can handle me with no problem. Not sure why this happens to me, but maybe in time, I can overcome these problems and just be a good companion. Because of my issues, a home is preferred with children at least 15 years old. I will do best being placed into a loving home that can teach/show me that adults are not always bad people and that I can have a good, very happy life with someone who will love me. Please give me a 2nd chance to have a good life...........if you can work with me and help me to be a better cocker boy..........I would like a chance to meet you!
