Dixie's Story...
Dixie is a Wire-hairedTerrier mixed breed, just shy of 30 lbs. She is tan and white, with the sweetest chestnut colored eyes that give you the true meaning of the puppy dog eyes. This little girl showed up on our doorstep and just would not leave. We found out she had been wandering around the neighborhood for days. We made every effort possible to find her owner, but no one has come forth to claim her. This adorable little girl very rarely barks. She plays well with our yellow lab, cats and is most lovable with my three young children. She is always near but never under foot. She loves to be loved on by all, young and old. My girls spend time brushing her and dressing her and she just sits there taking it all in. Dixie is house trained, crate trained for sleeping and trained her to understand the boundaries of the Petsafe underground fence. Dixie is spayed, UTD on her vaccines and microchipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dixie, a Smithfield Wheaten Terrier/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Wheaten Terrier/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) for sale in Smithfield, or seeking a Wheaten Terrier/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog from a breeder in Smithfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Smithfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Smithfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Wheaten Terrier/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) breeders who help with Wheaten Terrier/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Smithfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
