Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Olivia and her siblings Newton and Johnny came to us from Missouri, where they were left in the woods to fend for themselves. Through a “Twist of Fate” someone found them, kept them safe from the coyotes, and worked some “Magic” to get them here. Olivia is about 4 months old and weighs 17 pounds. All the pups have the markings of a hound and the sweet personalities of a lab, and might be lab/hound mixes. But that is very much of a guess, so only those willing to take pot-luck as far as actual breed should apply!
These pups are extremely friendly, good with people and with other dogs, and not overly interested in cats. They have typical puppy energy, but are not overly “Physical”. Olivia is the smallest and the sweetest of the bunch. She loves to be held, cuddled and petted. She comes looking for a snuggle and some affection first… then off she goes to play! She loves soft toys, and is also very fond of bones, which she carried off the porch and around the yard. She did well with 5 other dogs at her first foster home and would be a welcome addition to any family, 2 legged or four.
Olivia will need a family where someone is home part or all of the day to get her on a regular schedule, since she is not house-trained. But with “A Little More Love” and some obedience training, most likely she will be “Hopelessly Devoted To You” when full grown!
You can meet Olivia at her current foster home, Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Rd., during normal store hours (847-251-6750, www.wilmettepetcenter.com) Though you may want to take her home on the spot, please know you will first have to go through our normal application process.
Her adoption fee of $325 includes: vet exam, DAPP (distemper combo), bordetella, and rabies vaccinations, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm preventative and spay.
