Riley II's Story...
Good day AGB friends. My name is Riley and I’m an 8 year old girl who weighs 66 lbs. I’ve been well cared for, I’m spayed and fully vetted with all my vaccinations. My owner moved recently and couldn't take me with her so she gave me to her mother. Unfortunately her yard was a little too small for me and she had a very low gate which I could easily get over. She hated to give me up, but she didn’t want me to get out and something bad happen to me, so she contacted AGB since they are the experts at finding forever families for golden girls like me who have been somewhat displaced. I am really a housedog because I love being with people. I know a few commands like sit, stay, come and down. I am friendly with other dogs and I love kids, water, playing ball, chasing a Frisbee and being brushed and loved on. I get a little nervous when I hear rumbly sounds like thunder or power tools. If you are interested in adding a smart, pretty, lady like me to your family, please contact AGB and ask to meet me, Riley. Please visit me at or call

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Riley II, a BIRMINGHAM Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in BIRMINGHAM, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in BIRMINGHAM.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in BIRMINGHAM already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a BIRMINGHAM breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in BIRMINGHAM paves the way for another one to be saved.
