Barbie's Story...
Barbie is a 3 year old Beagle mix that was rescued from a high kill shelter. She is an amazing sweet and affectionate girl!! Barbie loves to be around people once she gets to know them, run and play and go for car rides. She gets along with other dogs, but unfortunately we do not know how Barbie is with cats. She needs a fenced yard where she can safely run and play. Barbie is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, on heart worm preventative and house and crate trained. This wonderful girl would make a great addition to almost any family.

All dogs we rescue stay with us until they find their forever homes. We do not do same day adoptions. Adoption applications are only available at our adoption events. A home visit is required to ensure our dog is going to a safe environment and our dog gets along with your dog(s) and/or cat(s). We require all our dogs over the age of 1 year attend 1 obedience class (6 week session) outside the home. You must live within 1 hour of Birmingham, MI to adopt one of our dogs. Come meet all of our adoptable dogs at the Make A Difference Rescue adoption events every Sunday at the Troy Petco on Coolidge near 15 Mile Rd from 12-4:30pm. Our adoption fee is $275.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Barbie, a Birmingham Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Birmingham, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Birmingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Birmingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Birmingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Birmingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
