Baby Tommy's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, not good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Baby Tommy's Story...
Tommy is one sweet and loving little boy - best guess is Norwich or Norfolk Terrier and Chihuahua due to his fur, small frame, and personality - weighing around eight pounds. This boy is love and fun in a great small size package.

Tommy is full of love and affection. He loves to spend time with other dogs, but craves time with his people more than anything. He is as energetic, playful, sweet and silly as a puppy should be.

Tommy has been crate trained and does well on a lead, though he would just as soon be carried. He is great with our dogs, big small young and old, and even our cat. He is house-trained in our foster home and would only need his new family to continue his great habits.

In Tommy's foster home one of his favorite people is an eight-month-old baby. Of course, if you have children in your own home we expect them to be taught how to respect a dog and never to be left unsupervised with any dogs.

If you think Tommy may be just what you are looking for and vice versa, please read through the Adoption Process page of our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - or continue reading here for how to begin the process.

All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - and is found under Resources. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live.

Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Baby Tommy, a Oakley Norfolk Terrier/Maltese puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Norfolk Terrier/Maltese for sale in Oakley, or seeking a Norfolk Terrier/Maltese puppy from a breeder in Oakley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Norfolk Terrier/Maltese breeders who help with Norfolk Terrier/Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakley paves the way for another one to be saved.
