Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Greetings all! I’m Tippie (Tip for short) and I’m ready for a new forever home.
Rumor has it that I'm between 8 and 10 years old (I look older because I am at least 10 pounds overweight... a situation my new foster parents are helping me with and I am getting leaner by the day). But do not believe everything that you hear! I may have some snow on the rooftop but there is plenty of fire in the furnace!
My owners were moving to a nursing home, there was no room for me and Midwest BREW came to my rescue.
I am currently on a diet because I am on the plump side! My foster family also put me on an exercise plan and we are taking a lot of long walks.
There are four other Beagles in my foster home and we are all getting along wonderfully. We sit out on the porch, run around the house and watch TV together. I have met several other people who all think I’m an adorable big fella, and I even give little kids kisses when they pet me!
I probably lived at a house with a fenced in yard because, to tell the truth, I am not very good on a leash but I am quickly getting better and, with a little patience and training I am sure that I will become a great companion.
Being near people is one of my greatest joys. I just love following foster Mom around and snuggling on the couch. I am a really gentle boy and I wait for my turn to eat and for treats (but I do NOT get many treats at all because of my weight problem). I do like to chew but prefer antlers and Nylabones (no furniture or shoes for me!).
So if you’re looking for a slightly overweight fun loving guy I’m your boy!
Note from foster home: Tippie weighed 44 pounds on August 4th and is already down to 38. He is making excellent progress and is great at keeping up a good pace on the walks that he takes twice a day. He does not beg and is not food aggressive at all, which leads us to believe that his former owners were feeding him WAY too much, and for quite some time. Being unbelievably affectionate he will paw your hand for more belly rubs the minute you try to stop! He is a very good boy and eager to please.
