My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DICKSON is a 2 year old neutered yellow male Lab who weighs 56 pounds. Dickson is a friendly boy and is good with other dogs. He is crate trained and may be house trained. Dickson pulls on a lead so an EZ Walk harness will assist with his walking. The evaluator says "he's a great dog and is being a good boy!" From the transporter: Dickson is very friendly and loves to meet new people. He rode fine in a crate with only a bit of whining when he figured out he'd get treats :). He takes treats with a very gentle mouth. Dickson is a sweet and handsome dog. From the vet: Dickson is a super nice dog. He knows sit, down, and shake. Dickson was a stray to the shelter. He is approved for kids 10+.

Update (9/18): Dickson is an awesome houseguest. He is perfectly behaved in the house without a crate for a workday. No barking and nothing out of place. Walks pretty well with a harness and loves to say hello to all the dogs he meets. A 30 minute run is perfect for him though he could go longer and a romp with a buddy would also be his thing. He is very well behaved at mealtime with my dog, no growling or food stealing, very respectful of personal space. At bedtime and in the morning he's a perfect cuddle bug.

Update (9/14): Dickson is a very nice guy who would be fine alone but would also love a playmate, old or young, as long as they'd like to play with him he's happy. He'd probably be a good dog park dog because he's so playful and so far seems to understand when another dog doesn't want to play. A nice walk, run or doggie playdate seems to tire him out well. In the house he's calm and respectful. I'm also pretty sure he's a swimmer as he hasn't met a puddle he didn't walk right through and he's tried out both of my ponds. He loves to cuddle with you in the morning and really enjoyed his morning nap on the bed with me. Just a really nice guy.

Update (9/11): Dickson is a very good boy and is settling in nicely. He is very sweet. He loves to be petted. He likes to roll around on the floor and have you rub his belly. He loves balls and bones and is being a very good boy. He walks pretty well on the leash, and a harness helps. He loves a Kong too!
