Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Austin is a very special girl. She was left by her owner tied to a tree when she was a puppy. She broke loose from the rope and had been wandering around the familiar neighborhood for months. A good Samaritan saw her, started feeding her in a field on her way home from work. Upon seeing her up close she could tell she had an imbedded collar. We were contacted to help her, which entailed trapping her (which was very difficult). She was taken straight to the vets where she stayed for a month. She was in awful condition. But with vetting and care she is ready to look for that special person, or family. Austin will need someone with patience and a true love to turn an abused, neglected dog that thinks the hand of a human is not always kind. She still prefers animals over people and loves to play with them. She still has that urge to bolt and run. She is always on a harness and leash. We truly are looking for that right person who will devote the love, time and attention it takes to win this girl over. If you think you would like to change this dogs world to a much better one than she has been shown, please contact us. She has some slight scarring on her face (looks a little red all the time), but she is still pretty. She can offer you some of the best expressions. We feel that once she finds that person who will love her, feed her, and take care of her she will turn around. Austin is house-trained, leash-trained, crate trained and needs a fenced in yard.
