Here's what the humans have to say about me:
LADY SASHA - White German Shepherd, female, 11 years, ~65 lbs. Lady Sasha found herself at a shelter due to a death in the family. This loving girl had her world turned upside down, and became very stressed, but, as sad as she was, her beautiful spirit continued to shine, making her a real favorite of the shelter staff. The shelter realized she needed to get back into a home as soon as possible, and contacted us to see if we could help. On meeting this gentle, unassuming and noble lady, we could not say no, she is a true Peppertree dog. In her foster home Lady Sasha has started to relax and show her personality, which her foster mom describes as practically perfect. She is affectionate with her family and a real leaner - but a cautious dog by nature, not the type to bound up to strangers and give them kisses! Her kisses are bestowed more discreetly. An easy guest, she is content to take a walk, and then take a nap. Lady Sasha is very eager to please, learns quickly, and is sure to bond very strongly with her family. Like most German Shepherds she really follows the lead of her people, and if they are happy and relaxed, she is happy and relaxed, but if things are overwhelming she gets overwhelmed which is why a quiet home would suit her best. While she does enjoy the company of other dogs and older children, the rough play of youngsters overwhelms her, a home with no small children and an easy going dog would be ideal. Lady Sasha spent most of her life outside in the country, and while she is house trained, crate trained, and has excellent manners, she is sometimes unsure in a home environment and will need a supportive family to keep building on her positive experiences as she continues to gain confidence and relax.
** If you are interested in adopting this dog, you must first complete an adoption application at http://peppertree.org/adoptapp.php. Or visit our site (http://peppertree.org/adoptlist.php) and learn about other Peppertree dogs. *Note: visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
