Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Mattie is a sweet petite girl. She loves to be with us and follows me around the house. She loves to cuddle and will beg for us to "please keep petting me!" when we stop
Mattie loves to play with our 9 month old Rottweiler puppy, Crash. They play tug of war and have a great time chasing each other all over the yard. We have a little Cavalier and a Berner that aren't into playing as much and she respects that. She is fine with our cats.
Mattie keeps her crate clean and tidy, I take her out very frequently and is good about going to the bathroom outside. She is usually quiet in her crate. She loves her food and eats it the second the bowl hits the floor. She is very food motivated and will follow a treat anywhere!
I believe that Mattie had a rough start at life. She has some pretty big scars on her back. I wonder where she got them from but they don't bother her and she has no problem with me touching them. She lets me do anything I want to her including trimming her nails which is not a Rottweilers favorite thing!
Mattie has been on strict cage rest for about 2 months now because of her spay and heartworm treatment. She has been very good for this but really needs to run and play. She is young and active but will settle down and is happy to just hang out with us in the house. She is now done her crate rest! YAY!
Mattie knows how to sit and wait and recently learned to lie down. I would love her to go to an obedience class to learn some more. She is very food motivated and would do well working for some tasty treats. She is wary of strangers and will bark at them. Thankfully she is won over quickly is someone gives her treats and is slow and gentle with her.
I think Mattie needs a family that will socialize and teach her. She needs someone to help build up her confidence in a positive way and understand what she is capable of being with some love. Mattie will not do well in a home that has people/kids/different dogs in and out continuously. That environment is too stimulating for her to cope with or be relaxed.
