My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Boss is a very sweet, chocolate lab that has had a very tough life from the looks of him. He has scars that look like old burns on his back and his left hip looks to be somewhat concave but it doesn't seem to bother him much. Even in spite of his past abuse, he loves loves loves people, and is very good with other dogs, kids and horses (hasn't been around cats). It's amazing that he is not fearful, but I haven't seen any of that at all. He has the kindest eyes I've ever seen on a dog and seems grateful for any kindness given him. Other than the first day here, when he was anxious and confused, he has not had any accidents in the house and he is a perfect houseguest with no counter surfing or garbage raids. He is completely trustworthy in the house, and will not even get up on the furniture without an invitation.
He sleeps in our room on his dog bed, loves his short walks and is just a joy to have here. He will need a special home that will give him all the love that he has for so long deserved. He has been with us for a few months now and just got the release from the vet today as he has underwent heartworm injections. He came through that with flying colors and will have to be checked in January to make sure that they are all gone. He will have to have a joint supplement like glucosamine for his back legs but they don't slow him down at all, and really don't seem to cause him any pain. He jumped in the pool the first day here but I think it scared him and he hasn't done it since. He will come and sit on the pool stair but that’s it.

He loves rolling around in the grass, resting his head on his person’s lap and just getting some love. He is not at all food aggressive. With all the obstacles this boy has faced, he deserves a forever family who will love and cherish him. He is just the kindest sweetheart and when you look into his eyes, you will know what I'm talking about. He's seen the worst in humankind, but he doesn't hold it against us. His life now is going to be nothing but happiness, tail wagging and hugs.
