Esther (Essie Girl) exemplifies the reason GRFR exists. She is on her way to being a very happy girl. She is the sweetest girl you can imagine! Everyone who meets her falls in love with her immediately. She has NO aggressiveness to anyone or anything, even with the pain she has been in. She LOVES to be petted and is pretty good on a leash (she wasn't always a stray). She is copacetic and confident. When she has gone on a visit to a strange home, she had a great time exploring on her own and made herself right at home. Whenever her foster mom looks at her, she thinks "IF". IF she had not been picked up when she was . . .IF she had not come to GRFR when she did . . .the world would be missing a very sweet dog.
According to the vet, she is anywhere from 8 to 12 years old. She deserves as many years as she can get for her to enjoy being a dog and being as spoiled as she can. She loves to go for walks. Without front teeth, she can't really chew bones or play fetch. However, she LOVES treats. So far, her favorites are cheese and cream cheese. She also enjoys dog biscuits. She is a very smart girl; she has learned that she should not try to go out the door when it is someone else's turn for a walk and is learning to predict what is going on in the household. Since her activity has been limited after he spay surgery, we have not been able to work on recall. We will start
that in about another week.
Esther has had a dental where several teeth were removed and has recently been spayed. Please consider bringing this lovely girl into your family.
