My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buddy is a 4-yearold Rottweiler Puppy!!! Having spent the first 3.5 years of his life in a crate with exposure to one person only, he is now experiencing the freedom and love that should have been his puppyhood 3 years ago. Living with his foster family for the past 4 months he has learned so much about life but still has a long way to go. Buddy will require an experienced owner who will have the patience to work carefully and slowly through every transitional step with him.

Because of his size and exuberance, we recommend a home with children over 10 years old. He enjoys being around other dogs and cats. He walks well on leash but will pull with excitement if he sees another dog (he's 110 lbs. by the way); plays energetically at the dog park and will retrieve toys and a ball; he is very good in the car and is well behaved at the vets; enjoys being part of the family at home - is content to be in contact with his foster humans and will play nicely with the resident dog. He does not like to be crated (no surprise) but he does best when he has free roam of the house. Buddy has a sensitive stomach and must be supervised carefully at meal times.

As Buddy is not confident around men, we are looking for a family where the woman will have the primary role in his care. Gaining Buddy's trust will not happen over night so a patient, consistent and kind approach is absolutely essential.

Our adoption process will be detailed and lengthy so please do not send in an application unless you seriously believe you can give Buddy the home he needs and that he will be a great fit for you and your family.
