My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SAMSON: 8 Year Old Male Neutered Black Lab / Mix 90 Pounds

Samson was a wonderful companion for his owner for the past 8 years. His owner decided to go into the military and left him with his dad. His dad was renting and the landlord told the dad he had to get rid of Samson or he would have to evict him. Unfortunately with the rental market Samson was taken to the Ukiah shelter. Samson has been an indoor dog and part of a family. His owner has spent a lot of time training him and he has excellent manners when it comes to 99% of everything but his one exception is the BALL! He is ball crazy and will do anything for the ball. He does bring the ball back but he will play ball nonstop and he does jump up to try to get the ball from you. He is currently at our boarding facility and gets out to play with other dogs, was in a home with another dog and just seems like an overall happy camper. He can be left alone with no issues and will be there with a smile on his face when you return! He loves the water and rides well in the car.

Samson has all his shots, he is microchipped, heartworm negative and neutered. He was chewing on his tail when we took him into the program but this is healing now – we think it was from fleas!

He is located in Petaluma.

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
