My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hercules came to our Rescue from a farm near St Cloud, MN. He was supposed to guard goats, but was never trained for that and much prefers to hang out with people. He is 15 months old and 95 lbs.

Hercules’ foster family says he is a lovable friendly dog with a big heart. Hercules is still very much a puppy-even though he is and looks full grown in size. He likes to play with our dogs. Sometimes it gets a little wild (but again he is a puppy). They race through the house and outside. He has a lot of energy when he plays but likes to have downtime too. He is a little mischievous and curious right now. The first few days he was on his best behavior. Now that he has been accepted in the household by humans and dogs, he is checking out what is on the counters, in bags, and you name it.

Hercules sleeps on the couch in the living room or the floor in the hallway. He rides great in vehicles. He eats and drinks just fine. He can get a little possessive around the water and food bowls (just a bark or growl). We are working on stopping it. He plays with toys and shares. He really enjoys my other dogs. He loves playing and running with them in the yard. He is big and play does get rough at times but my dogs keep going back asking for more. He listens well and responds to verbal commands, and knows what NO means. He does not like to be separated (doors shut) on him, but he is fine when we are away (no anxiety when we leave). He is warm and friendly at all times. Hercules’ new family should be ready to give him some attention when they get home from work. He will settle down after a bit but is always excited to see you!

An adoption application, site visit, secure visible fencing, and an adoption fee are required to adopt Hercules. With very few exceptions, a visible, securely fenced yard is required to adopt from NSGPR.
