Here's what the humans have to say about me:
10/18/08 We'd like to bring Ariel north now that she has completed her heartworm treatment but we need an adoptive home- When she first went to her foster home in Arkansas she was depressed- wouldn't you be if you were brought from the only home you knew to a kill shleter where you were seperated from your baby and then put into another home and given heartworm treatment which makes dogs feel sick? She has come so far and is now wagging her tail and giving kisses. She loves her foster mom (she is in foster care in Arkansas) and follows her around the house. Ariel is couch potato that would do best in a quieter home as she is a quiet dog. She is fine with children who visit and fine with other dogs but much more interested in her people. Areil would be great for a retired couple or person or someone who is home more and could give her the love she so deserves.
5/10/08 - This sweet girl has all of the cards stacked against her! Poor Ariel is a big black dog. Black dogs are always the last to get adopted because they are easily overlooked visually by prospective adopters. On top of that strike against her, Ariel is also a Lab/Pit Bull mix. This girl is so sweet! She is terrified at the shelter and tried to melt into the volunteer who was holding her during picture taking. Ariel came to the shelter with her puppy, Abraham (also coming north, pending adoption). Her former caretakers told us that she is about 12 months old. She gave birth to 11 puppies. 3 died., 7 were sold and the last, Abraham, came to the shelter with Ariel. She is a great mom and deserves a chance at a loving home. Ariel may not be eye-catching, but she will capture your heart if you would just give her a chance.
All our dogs are at our partner shelter in the South unless otherwise marked.
